Admission to B.M.M. for 2007-2008 were done on the basis of University Circular No. UG/279 of 2007 dated 15-06-2007.

Eligibility : A candidate for being eligible for admission to the Degree Course in Bachelor of Mass Media shall have passed XII Std. Examination of the Maharashtra Board of Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent, from the Science, Arts or Commerce Stream.

Documents Required for Admission :

Students should bring the following documents in original along with duly attested photocopies for verification at the time of admission :

    1. Original Mark sheet of H.S.C., two xerox copies of Mark sheet and one zerox copy of Leaving Certificate (LC) for F.Y. admission.
    2. Original Mark sheet of Semester I & II along with one xerox copy each for S.Y. admission.
    3. Original Mark sheet of Semester I, II, III & IV along with one xerox copy each for T.Y. admission.
    4. One recent Passport size photography taken with light coloured dress for all classes.
  2. Caste Certificates (if applicable)
  3. Caste Validity Certificate
  4. Documentary evidence regarding special category status
  5. Eligibility Certificate (students coming from other than Maharashtra Board and Maharashtra Technical Board)
  6. Physically handicapped candidates should produce the relevant certificate from competent authority.
In case the original mark sheet of H.S.C. has been submitted for admission to any college, a certificate to that effect, signed by the Principal of the College must be produced.

R.4290 Scheme of Examination

  1. The Examination shall be conducted at the end of each Semester.
  2. A paper shall carry 100 marks. The evaluation of the performance of the students in the papers shall be on the basis of both Internal Assessment (50%) and Semester End Examination (50%). Internal Assessment shall be on the basis of class assignments, projects, presentations, group discussions, seminar attendance, field visits, etc.
  3. The Semester End Examination shall be a written theory paper held at the end of each Semester and shall be of 2 hours duration.

R.4292 Standard of Passing :

  1. A candidate shall have to obtain a minimum 50% of marks in each head of passing to pass a particular semester provided that the candidate must have obtained a minimum 35% of marks in aggregate in all heads of passing taken together at every semester and examination. The candidate shall also have to obtain a minimum of 35% of the marks in Internal Assessment as well. If the candidate does not secure 35% in Internal Assessment, as stated above he/she will have to re-submit (fresh) Internal Assessment his/her reappearance, at the subsequent examination in that subject/s.
  2. A candidate shall be placed in First Class with Distinction if he / she secures a minimum of 50% marks in each theory paper in Semester V & VI and at least 70% marks in theory paper in Semester V & VI taken together in aggregate.
  3. A candidate shall be placed in First Class if he / she secures a minimum of 50% marks in each theory paper in Semesters V & VI and at least 60% marks in theory papers of Semester V & VI taken together in aggregate.
  4. A candidate shall be placed in Second Class if he / she secures a minimum of 50% marks in each theory paper in Semester V & VI and less than 60% marks in theory papers of Semesters V & VI taken together in aggregate.
  5. A candidate who fails in any particular theory paper/s shall be allowed to reappear for that theory paper/s. However, his / her internal assessment marks shall be carried over. But he / she shall not be entitled to any class on passing.
    1. A candidate shall be allowed to keep terms for Semester II if he / she passes Semester I OR if he / she fails in not more than two theory papers of Semester I.
    2. A candidate shall be allowed to keep terms for Semester III if he / she passes Semester I and Semester II OR if he / she fails in not more than two theory papers of Semester I and Semester II taken together.
    3. A candidate shall be allowed to keep terms for Semester IV if he / she passes in each of Semester I, II and III OR if he / she passes Semester I and fails in not more than two theory papers of Semester II and Semester III taken together.
    4. A candidate shall be allowed to keep terms for Semester V if he / she passes in each of Semester I, II, III and IV OR if he / she passes Semester I and Semester II and fails in not more than two theory papers of Semester III and Semester IV taken together.
    5. A candidate shall be allowed to keep terms for Semester VI if he / she passes in each of Semester I, II, III, IV and V OR if he / she passes Semester I and Semester II and Semester III and fails in not more than two theory papers of Semester IV and Semester V taken together.
  6. A candidate shall be allowed class only when (a) Semester I and II examinations (b) Semester III and IV examinations (c) Semester V and VI examinations, are taken in one and the same sitting.
  7. viii) A candidate passing Semester I, III and V will not be awarded any class.
  8. A candidate will be required to pass all Six Semester examinations to qualify for the award of degree of Bachelor of Mass Media.

Students Insurance :
Students are insured for each academic year and are liable to receive monetary benefit against hospitalization charges / damages / in case of injury on account of accidents, the upper limit prescribed as Rs. 50,000/- only.

The students of T.Y. are required to have 75% attendance in each paper by January, 2008.

The Principal shall not sign the Hall Tickets of T.Y. students unless the students pass the Prelims Examination. Failures will have to appear for the Re-Prelim Examination and clear the same. Hall Tickets of such students will be signed by the Principal on clearance of the Re-Exam.

Cancellation of Admission for BMM: -
Students canceling their admission will be entitled to receive the refund of Semester fee paid after deduction of the amount as indicated below:

Refund of Deposits (Self-financing Courses):
Application for the refund of deposits must be made between 1st Sep. to 30th Sep or 1st Feb. to 28 Feb. of the year when applicant ceases to be a student of the college, failing which the deposit will be forfeited.
