- Ms. Sulekha Gopinath (HOD) : M.Sc. Mumbai Uni., M.Phil Mumbai
Uni.
Her area of interest includes tunnelling in electronic devices. She is also
involved in remedial course.
- Ms. R. Lathika Menon
(M.Sc. Kerala Univ., M.Phil Mumbai Uni.)
Her area of interest is atomic and Nuclear Physics and has worked on Schwinger's
approach to Thomas Fermi Model. She has a special interest in students who
find Physics difficult and is active in the remedial course. She is also
interested in innovative experiments and demonstrations.

She is very much interested in Physics popularization and is involved in
motivating activities of Physics association. Her area of interest is Astronomy
and Cosmology. She is also interested in Electronic instrumentation.
- Dr. Ms.Anita Kanwar : M.Sc.- Mumbai University, Ph.D.
Her area of interest includes Liquid crystals, Nano particles, Electronics
and semiconductors. She has 7 publications to her credit in National &
International journals

His area of interest is theoretical Physics, especially Astrophysics, General
Relativity and Properties of materials. He is also interested in Computational
Techniques applied to Physics problems. He has been actively involved in
Talent Nurture Program in the college and Indian Physics Olympiad training
program. Awarded UGC research grant for the project on "Computational
study of material properties" for 2006-2007. Has designed & executed
'Supplementary Programme for Capacity Physics. Served on NCERT review and
editing committee for revising class XI & XII Physics textbooks in the
year 2006 - 07. Presently involved with NCERT in preparation for Book of
Exemplary Problem in Physics

Her area of interest includes fibre optics, photonics and presently she
is working in the area of 'non-linear effects in fibre optics and fibre
amplifier'. She has 4 publications to her credit in National and International
journals. Awarded UGC research grant for project on "Computational
Modelling of Erbium doped fiber lasers and its experimental verification"
for 2006 -2007.

Active PHYSICS ASSOCIATION (Prof. In charge: Mrs. Lathika Menon)
Activities include : guest lectures on special topics, exhibition,
quiz, Presentation on special topics, scientific news - reading session,
outing for Star Gazing with department owned telescope, Visit to near
by research labs & Screening of Scientific Films for College teachers
and students.

After passing out, many of our students join post-graduate program of
university from where some of them have been selected in graduate school
of TIFR, Graduate school of S.N. Nose Centre, Kolkatta and Integrated
Ph.D. programme in IISC, BARC etc
. Our alumni also include people
working in National Labs like BARC, software companies, academic institutions,
industries and various other fields.

Ms. Mubeena Sheikh of T.Y.B.Sc. Physics 07-08 showed an outstanding
performance at National Graduate examination a qualifier for

only 54 out of 5205 students qualified the examination .
